Major Advance in Radiology Practice Management Software
Leading e-health company Pro Medicus (ASX:PME) today announced the production release of Version 5.0 of its Practice Management software. This new version, the first medical software product to offer such a comprehensive level of productivity measurement, enables radiology practices to track and improve the efficiency of every step in their administrative and clinical processes. Pro Medicus Managing Director Dr Sam Hupert, described the upgrade as the most comprehensive and significant in the 21 year history of the medical IT company. "The entire radiology workflow process can now be monitored and controlled from when the patient makes an appointment through to when the referring doctor receives the Radiologist's report. For example, we are able to take information directly from the scanning equipment that tells us exactly when a patient's scan starts and finishes, giving practices the information to most efficiently utilise their scarce and most expensive resources people and equipment," he said. "Importantly, all of this is achieved automatically - there are no additional steps." The introduction of the upgraded practice management software will also give a substantial boost to the delivery of the company's growth aspirations in the areas of digital imaging and overseas expansion. Pro Medicus' digital radiology integration products "fit like a hand in a glove" with the new practice management system and together have the potential to transform the radiology industry, said Dr. Hupert. "Radiology work processes have not fundamentally changed since X-Ray technology was invented over a century ago. Version 5.0 coupled with our digital imaging products can deliver productivity improvements not thought possible before," he said. Pro Medicus clients who have adopted digital imaging have already found efficiency gains of around 30%. PMS Version 5.0 will allow clients to lock in those efficiencies and identify further areas to target for improvement. "With the release of version 5.0 the company has raised the bar for Australian medical IT. This not only provides us with a significant edge over our competitors, it also gives us a solid platform on which to build our overseas growth strategy," Dr Hupert said. For more information:
